Readers, manufacturers and retailers can challenge a HedgeLens fact. Evidence is reviewed against the exact model and the primary source.
What to send
Provide the page URL, disputed wording, exact model or variant, a primary source and the date observed. Commercial pressure alone is not a reason to remove a supported limitation.
What happens next
- We acknowledge the report through the published contact route.
- We preserve the original wording and verify the source.
- We correct clear errors without waiting for a scheduled refresh.
- Material changes receive a dated correction note.
- Disputed interpretations are clarified with the evidence boundary.
Requests involving privacy or personal data follow the process in the final Privacy Policy.
A scheduled content cycle is not a reason to leave a material error online. The original wording and source are retained internally so the decision can be audited.
Correction categories
Minor: spelling, formatting or wording that does not alter meaning. Material: model identity, price date, compatibility, safety, privacy, evidence status or another fact that could change a purchase. Update: accurate text made outdated by a new product, firmware, policy or official guidance.
Verification and outcome
HedgeLens checks the exact model and date, prioritises primary evidence, and contacts the source where necessary. A supported correction is made in the body; a material change receives a dated note. If evidence remains disputed, the page explains the boundary rather than presenting certainty.
What a useful report contains
- The HedgeLens URL and exact sentence.
- Exact product model, variant and firmware if relevant.
- A primary source URL or original document.
- Date observed and why it affects the conclusion.
The public contact route remains a launch dependency until the owner supplies verified addresses. Privacy and removal requests follow the final production privacy process.
Corrections are independent of commercial relationships
A manufacturer, retailer or affiliate programme may submit evidence, but commercial leverage does not determine the outcome. Supported limitations are not removed because they are inconvenient, and affiliate availability cannot delay a correction. Where a product page changes materially, related comparisons and internal links are checked at the same time.
Transparency after a change
The visible note explains what changed and when if the original could have affected a buying decision. Minor typographical fixes do not need a public log. The reviewed date is updated only when the relevant page has actually been checked, not simply because an automated process saved the post. Read the editorial rules and evidence method.
