Evidence-led reviews and buying guides for wildlife cameras, written for UK gardens.

Editorial Policy

HedgeLens editorial research system
Source-checked guidance · UK garden context

Accuracy, usefulness and transparent evidence take priority over affiliate conversion.

Selection

Products are included because they answer a UK garden use case, not because a programme pays commission. Availability, maintainability, safety, total ownership cost and evidence quality inform coverage.

Claims and language

Merchant facts are attributed. We do not publish scores, “best overall” winners or testing claims without supporting work. AI tools may assist drafting or administration but cannot create product evidence, quotations, test results or product photographs.

Commercial independence

Affiliate status and commission are held as private operational fields and do not determine verdict order. Supplied samples and paid relationships are disclosed on the affected page.

Review and correction

Material buying guides receive a source and freshness review. Corrections are logged promptly and explained when they could have changed a buying decision.

Reader utility is the editorial test

A page must help a UK garden owner make a safer, clearer or more economical decision. Commission, free samples and access do not determine inclusion or conclusions.

Authorship and accountability

Every material page is reviewed against its intended query, primary sources and evidence label. The legal owner and responsible editor must be published on the About page before launch; those identities are never invented during development.

Use of automation and AI

Tools may help structure notes, identify gaps, check internal consistency or draft language. They cannot create quotations, product photographs, measurements, field observations or authority. Factual claims must trace to a recorded source or a documented HedgeLens test.

Conflicts, samples and affiliate links

Programme availability and commission rates are operational data, not ranking inputs. A loan or supplied sample is disclosed on the affected record. Manufacturers may correct facts but do not receive editorial approval. Active commercial links are labelled and use sponsored attributes.

Quality gate

Originality and source handling

HedgeLens does not rewrite retailer copy as editorial content. Product language is summarised only to establish the exact claim, then analysed for the practical UK garden decision. Direct quotations are used sparingly and linked to their source. Images require an owned, licensed or clearly documented permitted-use status before publication.

Page review cycle

High-intent comparisons are reviewed when models, bundles or availability change. Practical guides are reviewed when official guidance or a material technology assumption changes. A reviewed date means the page was checked; it does not turn a dated price into a live offer. See commercial handling and how changes are recorded.
